4 Horror Movies Streaming Right Now That Are Worth Your Attention

Horror is doing the damn thing right now and we are absolutely here for it.

If you're looking for some really great horror movies to watch at home this weekend, here are a few gems that we've recently watched and recommend.

The Coffee Table ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Directed by Caye Casas, The Coffee Table is about Jesus and María, a couple going through a difficult time in their relationship and have just become parents. To shape their new life, they decide to buy a new coffee table. A decision that will change their existence.

This dark, anxiety inducing film that follows a character's processing of an absolutely horrific tragedy. This film will put your heart to the test, forcing you to grip the arms of your seat in stress and horror as you watch the nails of the tragedy sink deeper and deeper into our character throughout the runtime of the film.

The Coffee Table is available to purchase on VOD. It will be available on May 20th in the UK.

TW: child death, suicide

Lowlifes ⭐⭐⭐

While Lowlifes is a Tubi original, it doesn't feel like it. Mitch Oliver and Tesh Guttikonda deliver one heck of a directorial debut in this backwoods, road trip thriller. The synopsis: the survival instincts of a road-tripping family are put to the test when they have no other choice but to stay the night at a remote homestead.

If you are like us, you will determine the main "twist" right away. But the ride to the end is well worth the watch.

Lowlifes is streaming on Tubi for free.

Infested ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you get the icks from looking at spiders crawl like I do, buckle up! Infested is about the residents of a rundown French apartment building who battle against an army of deadly, rapidly reproducing spiders.

Sebastien Vanicek is one to watch. This young director (who is at the helm of the next Evil Dead film) has got the "bug" for filmmaking. From the characters to the music, Vanicek fully immersed us into this world. There is such a relatability and genuine connection to the people in this building that when Rihanna (the spider) has her way, you can't help but feel for the residents (well, except one guy. IYKYK). The social messaging is clear but well balanced with real horror of these creatures.

Also really loved the diverse cast and the music!

Infested is streaming on Shudder/AMC+ for free.

TW: police beating

Disappear Completely ⭐⭐⭐.5

We have a full review all about Disappear Completely that you can read here. Directed by Luis Javier Henaine, it tells the story of Santiago, a callous, crime tabloid photographer, who makes his living taking photos of people at the end of their lives. When he encounters a wicked curse that's affecting his senses one by one, he does everything he can to fight it.

Disappear Completely is captivating and unique. It utilizes clever storytelling and cinematography and sound design that is just as compelling as the plot.

You can find this streaming on Netflix for free.

TW: animal death
